P24 DE's All-road

Road Disc frame,  for a very tall rider at 6'8'". There was no question that this rider required a custom build, you just can't get suitable bikes "off the peg".

Road bike geometry for a rider of this height required careful planning: wheels do not come large enough to keep things in proportion, fork manufacturers do not make steerers long enough, off the shelf tubing suppliers struggle to supply long enough frame tubes and head tubes. The rider's centre of gravity is far higher than the average and old injury issues required a pre build bike fit prior to ordering.

We used Reynolds oversized 853 for the main tubes and a Columbus head-tube (220mm)

To bump up the wheel diameter we used 32mm tyres on a Hunt gravel wheelset.

As we're using the longest fork steerer available, and didn't want to custom build steel forks I managed to get the bars up to the required height using stock components by flipping a 17 degree stem on an uncut Columbus Futura CX fork steerer, (these forks also benefit from adjustable rake).

Stainless bottle bosses, blind ended stainless mudguard eyes, Reynolds stainless cast thru-axle dropouts, custom carved stainless seat-tube clamp and internal wax- oil take care of rust prevention.

The drive train is mainly the newly introduced Shimano GRX 1X groupset with a SRAM chainset, as we needed short cranks to cope with some significant knee injuries. Custom made carbon mudguards from the new 35mm mould and a custom made pannier rack finish things off.
